From an early age, Humberto was always interested in writing and creative works. He has published articles in many newspapers as well as other media.
In 2009, he published a book with co-author, Cindy VanDusen, "Everything You Need to Ask When Selecting an Assisted Living Facility. This book won the National Caregiver award that year.
In 2014, Humberto began writing a new Tango Musical originally entitled "Because I Loved Her So." It was completed in 2015, under the new title, "TANGObsession." This Avant-Garde Musical premiered at the Aventura Arts and Cultural Center in Miami, Florida in October, 2015.
In 2015, as a producer, Humberto Fortuna joined with Laura Sapir as business partners to create HumSa Productions in Floirda. It's mission is to promote knowledge of cultural events and to promote and support local and international artists through various events. HumSa Productions' objective is to create and promote new links between veteran artists and new artists in all languages and cultures.
"TANGObsession.....Because I Loved Her So" was presented again on February 14, 2016 at the Manuel Artime Theater in Miami, Florida to sold out performances and standing ovations.
Humberto will be taking "TANGObsession" to his hometown in Buenos Aires, Argentina in August of 2016 with its full, original cast.
He's becoming internationally known throughout South America and Europe and plans to travel there with all of his shows.
Humberto is currently working on a new show for 2017, under the title, "TANGO Prohibito," with a special guest star to be announced.
Humberto has written several other plays yet to be produced. One is entitled "Thanks for the Music," and centers around the period, 1978 to 1982 in Argentina. It uses National Argentinian Rock 'n' Roll music as a backdrop for this Avant-Garde musical.
